Palawan, Oriental Mindoro emerge as champions in Mimaropa RAA Meet

The annual Mimaropa Regional Athletic Association (RAA) Meet wrapped up last Friday with Palawan and Oriental Mindoro standing tall as overall champions in the secondary and elementary levels respectively.

The competition, which was held in Romblon from May 23 to May 26, saw Palawan rise to the top in the secondary level. The province boasted an impressive haul of 28 gold medals, 13 silver medals, and 22 bronze medals, securing its first-place position.

Close on their heels was Oriental Mindoro, clinching the second spot in the secondary level. Their athletes bagged a considerable tally of 21 gold medals, 13 silver medals, and 26 bronze medals.

Puerto Princesa City also put up a strong performance, clinching the third spot in the Secondary Division with a respectable total of 14 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 15 bronze medals.

Despite a spirited effort, host Romblon secured the penultimate position in the secondary level, with their athletes winning 3 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 16 bronze medals.

On the other hand, Oriental Mindoro dominated the elementary level, capturing the first-place position with a tally of 23 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals.

Palawan, showcasing their young athletes’ potential, secured the second spot in the Elementary Division with an impressive count of 10 gold medals, 17 silver medals, and 9 bronze medals.

Adding to their secondary level success, Puerto Princesa City also shone in the Elementary Division, taking home the third spot with 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals.

Romblon, while not faring as well in the secondary level, demonstrated commendable efforts in the elementary division, clinching fourth place with 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals.
