Two successful young Filipino businessmen will join their counterparts from more than 40 countries in five continents in a Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship that will be hosted by United States President Barack Obama.

United States (US) embassy officials, in a statement, said the summit will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington DC from April 26 to 27.

Joey Concepcion, co–founder of “Go Negosyo” movement and Bai Sandra Basar, a member of the Board of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Business Council were invited to represent the Philippines in the two-day summit. Basar is also a member of the Mindanao Regional Development Council.

Concepcion’s Go Negosyo is a movement that instills optimism and business spirit among Filipino entrepreneurs and business people.

A US embassy statement, quoting a June 4, 2009 speech of Obama said that “the Summit on Entrepreneurship will identify how we can deepen ties between business leaders, foundations, and entrepreneurs in the US and in Muslim communities around the world.”

It added that the forum also aims to “highlight the role entrepreneurship can play in addressing common challenges while building partnerships that will lead to greater opportunity abroad and at home.”
