MANILA–One person died of a heart attack while 20 others were given first aid for various ailments, but the Manila police on Saturday said the celebration of the feast of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo was “generally peaceful.”

Manila police director Chief Superintendent Rodolfo Magtibay, in a message late Saturday afternoon, said they estimated about 1.5 million devotees turned out along the route of the procession that took the revered icon of Jesus Christ from the Quirino grandstand in Luneta to the Quiapo church.

Magtibay identified the fatality as Rodrigo Ocampo.

He added that two pickpockets were arrested and the cellular phones they stole recovered.
