Former House Speaker and Congressman Lord Allan Jay Velasco was named the Mimaropa region’s top-performing district representative while Representative Alfonso Umali Jr. ranked third in the recent job performance evaluation conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD).
The evaluation, dubbed as “Boses ng Bayan,” revealed Velasco’s high-performance rating of 86.9 percent.
The survey covered the entire Philippines and aimed to recognize top-performing district representatives and promote transparency and accountability among elected officials.
The evaluation analyzed district representation, legislative performance, and constituent service to determine the overall performance of each representative.
According to the survey, Eleandro Jesus F. Madrona of Romblon placed second with 74.1%, followed by Umali of Oriental Mindoro (70.5%), Jose C. Alvarez of Palawan (69.6%), Arnan C. Panaligan of Oriental Mindoro (68.2%), Edward S. Hagedorn of Palawan (67.8%), Leody F. Tarriela of Occidental Mindoro (66.4%), and Edgardo Salvame of Palawan garnered 60.1 percent.
The ‘Boses ng Bayan’ survey is an independent and non-commissioned initiative that identifies the top-performing district representatives in the Philippines. It plays a crucial role in promoting good governance by encouraging transparency and accountability, while inspiring innovation and excellence among elected officials.
The overall performance of each representative was evaluated by analyzing their district representation, legislative performance, and constituent service. The survey focuses on their effectiveness in communicating and advocating for the needs of their constituents at the national level.
The “Boses ng Bayan” survey was conducted from February 25 to March 8 and interviewed 10,000 adult responders nationwide through face-to-face interviews. It has a ± 1 percent error margin at the 95% confidence level.
