Police Mimaropa arrested four individuals and seized more than P72,000 worth of “shabu” in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Oriental Mindoro and Palawan on Saturday, May 6, according to a police report issued over the weekend.
Orlando Galindo, 56, a resident of Calapan, and Larry Aniel Magnaye, 39, a resident of Naujan, were arrested after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) in exchange for P500 to a police poseur-buyer in Barangay Guinobatan at around 11:20 a.m.
Confiscated from them were eight sachets of “shabu” weighing 10.68 grams valued at P72,624.00.
Gilbert Bacay, 32, a resident of Naujan, was arrested after selling a sachet of “shabu” in exchange for P1,000 to a police poseur-buyer in Barangay Inarawan in Naujan town at around 6:35 p.m.
Gerald Mantubig, 24, a resident of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan province, was arrested after allegedly selling a sachet of “shabu” in exchange for P2,500 to a police poseur-buyer in Barangay Sta. Monica at around 2:53 p.m.
Seized from him were three sachets of “shabu”.
The arrested drug suspects are under police custody and complaints of violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) are being prepared for the inquest proceedings against them, said police.
Police Mimaropa had launched 121 anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of 143 drug suspects, yielding a total of 359.94 grams of “shabu” valued at P2.45 million from January to May 6 this year, said the report.
