A 442-linear meter farm-to-market road at Barangay Tagumpay in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro has been completed, the Department of Public Works and Highways announced.
The project, worth P9.7 million pesos, aims to connect agricultural and fisheries areas to markets and provide local producers with easier access to transport their goods to traders and consumers, according to Oriental Mindoro District Engineering Office of the DPWH.
The completed road is expected to benefit the grassroots economy and empower local farmers in the municipality by providing low transportation costs of farm products and increasing their profits.
The project also guarantees safe and convenient travel for locals and motorists by providing better and more efficient roads, offering better employment opportunities and improving the quality of life in rural communities.
