Pagcor photo contest invites Filipinos to capture PH’s beauty”

The Philippines is a country filled with wonders that are waiting to be discovered. From the lush greenery of its forests to the stunning beaches that stretch for miles, this archipelago is home to some of the most breathtaking sights in the world.

And now, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) is inviting all photography enthusiasts to capture these wonders through their lenses and showcase their talents in the Pagcor Photography Contest 2023.

The contest is part of Pagcor’s mandate to promote Philippine tourism and is in line with the Department of Tourism’s aim of promoting lesser-known destinations.

“There are a lot of destinations in the Philippines that are worth visiting,” says Jing Arambulo, senior manager of Pagcor’s Corporate Communications Department.

The competition is open to all Filipinos who are 18 years old and above as of February 15, 2023, the official start of the photo contest. The deadline for submission of entries is on July 31, 2023.

The theme of the photo contest is “Sa’n Tayo Next?” or “Where Do We Go Next?” and has two categories: conventional cameras (DSLRs, mirrorless) and mobile devices. Participants can submit a maximum of two entries, either two photos for one category or one entry for each category.

There will be 12 winners for the conventional category, each receiving P80,000 in cash, and another 12 winners for the mobile category, each receiving P35,000 in cash. The 12 winning photos will be featured in PAGCOR’s 2024 calendar.

PAGCOR will select 20 semifinalists for each category, and the jurors will choose the winning 12. Those who did not make it to the final 12 but were shortlisted will receive consolation prizes of P25,000 each for the conventional category and P10,000 for the mobile category.

Participants must register under the regional group where they are residing (Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao) and upload a valid ID with their address as proof of residency. Entries sent to the wrong group will be disqualified.

So grab your cameras and get ready to explore the Philippines like never before!
