President Bongbong Marcos has declared April 21 as a regular holiday in observance of Eid al-Fitr, following a recommendation by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos.
In Proclamation No. 201, Marcos stated that the declaration of April 21 as a national holiday would enable the “entire Filipino nation to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in peace and harmony in observance and clebration of Eid’l Fitr.”
The proclamation was signed by Marcos on April 14, in time for the upcoming holiday.
Eid al-Fitr or Eid ul-Fitr is a festival marking the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
