A man died after his motorcycle fell into an irrigation canal in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro last week, the disaster managemeny agency said.

Michael Saluba Catapang, 36, of Brgy. Poblacion, Calintaan, was headed to San Jose with his brother Apolonio on August 12 when the accident happened, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.

When they reached the junction of Brgy. Sibalat and Brgy. Poblacion, Michael failed to notice a curve, causing  the motorcycle to fall into the irrigation canal.

He was rushed to the St. Magdalene Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Apolonio was unharmed.
