MANILA, Philippines—The National Statistics Office is working to reduce the birth certificate application process into just two hours, NSO administrator Carmelita Ericta said.
Currently, birth certificate could be processed in a day if the application was filed at an NSO outlet while applications done in malls and online usually take three days.
Ericta said there are 42 NSO outlets nationwide and 400 local government unit partners where people can also get their birth certificates.
NSO has also partnered with SM Malls to make birth certificate application more accessible to the public.
“Ngayon kung kulang din ang panahon na sumadya (sa aming outlets), meron na din sa mga SM Malls business centers,” she said.
