PUERTO PRINCESA CITY—Several towns in Palawan province have been experiencing power shortages due to a mechanical failure and deficiency in crude supply.
The machine of the National Power Corporation (Napocor) in the northern Roxas town used in distributing power supply broke down, triggering power outages in several mainland towns.
A scheduled brownout will be implemented until the troubled machine is fixed.
In the island towns of Cuyo and Magsaysay, power outages were attributed to a lack of crude supply from Napocor.
The Provincial Government of Palawan and the Palawan Electric Cooperative gave Napocor 40 drums of crude oil to ensure a continued supply of electricity in the two towns while waiting for the crude stock of the state power distribution company.
