Storm signals lifted in Mindoro

Storm signals have been lifted in Mindoro as Tropical Storm Juaning leaves the country, the state weather bureau said Wednesday evening.

As of 10 p.m., Juaning was located 110 kilometers southwest of Laoag City, heading west-northwest at 19 kph over the West Philippine Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

It was packing sustained winds of about 85 kph and gusts of up to 100 kph.

Juaning was forecast to be 485 km west of Laoag City by Thursday evening, out of the Philippine area of responsibility.

Without storm signal lifted, classes are expected to resume in both Occidental and Oriental Mindoro Thursday.
