Mountain bikers plant indigenous trees in San Teodoro

‘Bike for P.A.’, the group of mountain bikers of Oriental Mindoro, has planted around 200 seedlings of indigenous trees in Calsapa, San Teodoro.

The bikers, joined by the employees of the municipal government of San Teodoro, planted lauan and apitong seedlings, said Community Affairs Officer IV Roberto O. Mendoza of the Provincial Planning and Development Office.

The area is also the site of the Linao Cawayan Mini-Hydro Power Plant, which is still being built.

Dennis Amuguis, chapter president of Calapan City Mountain Bikers said that the association of bikers in Calapan City and the towns of Baco, San Teodoro, Puerto Galera and Victoria has pledged support for Governor Alfonso Umali Jr.’s environmental programs in the province.
