PUERTO PRINCESA CITY– After two years of suspended service, SuperFerry will resume its Manila-Palawan operations by the end of the month.
SuperFerry 2 will again sail to and from Puerto Princesa City once a week beginning March 27, said Arlette Capistrano, marketing and communications manager of SuperFerry Inc.
Its absence has caused the cost of goods in the province to rise as traders are compelled to pay for high freight fees from Manila on board passenger aircraft.
At the same time, the resumption of the shipping line’s service is seen to boost tourism arrival in Palawan.
It was in March 2009 when SuperFerry halted its Palawan voyage, and Negros Navigation followed suit.
The resumption of service is part of SuperFerry’s expansion of route network following the acquisition of the company by Negros Navigation Co. Inc.
