A 51-year-old woman drowned when a motorized banca capsized after being battered by big waves in Burungcaan Point on Thursday.
MB Dominique was carrying 10 crewmembers and five passengers when it sank about 10 miles off Bulalacao.
Nida Pena, a resident of Caminawit, San Jose, drowned after she was reportedly left inside the boat when it capsized.
The banca, owned by Ricky Dela Vega of Semirara, Caluya, Antique, was towed towards Semirara Island by a tug boat.
The crew and the passengers were brought to Semirara for medical checkup.
Also on Thursday, San Jose-bound MV Dominic reportedly sank off the coast of the municipality of Magsaysay.
The vessel, which came from Semirara, Antique, was carrying an undetermined number of passengers and crew when it went down.
