A4.7 magnitude earthquake that struck 28 kilometers northwest of Nasugbu, Batangas jolted three Mindoro towns, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said Tuesday.
The undersea tremor, whose magnitude was placed by the US Geological Survey at 5.3, hit at an intermediate depth of 108 kilometers.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
In Metro Manila, the tectonic tremor caused high rise buildings to sway.
It was felt at Intensity IV in Manila and Dasmarinas, Cavite.
Intensity III in Quezon City, Pasay City, Pasig City, Makati City, Muntinlupa City, Malabon City, Tagaytay City, Subic, (Zambales), Mariveles (Bataan) and Malolos (Bulacan).
Intensity II in Looc, Lubang, Occidental Mindoro; Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro; San Teodoro, Oriental Mindoro; and Obando, Bulacan.
Intensity I in San Fernando, Pampanga.
