DAR-Palawan exceeds 2010 target

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY—The Department of Agrarian Reform exceeded its 2010 Land Acquisition and Distribution (LAD) target while performing fairly well in the delivery of support services, Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Conrado Guevarra said.

Based on its latest report, DAR-Palawan distributed 1,662 hectares, exceeding the 2010 target of 1,328 hectares of combined homelots and public-private agricultural lands by 334 hectares.

Engineer Rogelio Madarcos, chief of Operations Division, reported to Guevarra the 125 percent rate of accomplishment while citing the individual contributions of the field offices, officers and employees working frontline all throughout the year.

To achieve and exceed its target, DAR-Palawan worked on a 24/7 scheme foregoing vacation leave in December to ensure that the targets are met and all unfinished work are delivered before the end of 2010.

DAR-Palawan is one of the top performers in the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) in the country for two decades now.
