A parade of about 3,500 athletes kick-started the weeklong Mindoro Marinduque Romblon Palawan Regional Athletic Association (MIMAROPARAA) Meet in Calapan City on Sunday.

The regional athletes are set to compete in various events.

Another sports event, the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Olympics (ALCULYMPICS), is set to be held in Calapan City on March 7 to 11.

About 1,500 are expected to join the regional Olympics.

Calapan City serves as the center of the Mimaropa region.
