Three prisoners who escaped from the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm were recaptured close to a month since they fled.

The three—Etil S. Gomez, Danilo S. Mendez and Larry Caritativo Villanueva—were rearrested Friday in Barangay Mapayapa 3, in San Jose, said San Jose Chief of Police Senior Inspector Edwin Gutang.

They escaped from the sprawling prison farm last January 14 but were recaptured after police received reports on their whereabouts, Gutang said.

Gomez of Bahi, Barobo, Surigao Del Sur is in prison for homicide; Mendez of Nagrumban, Cagayan, Isabela for rape; and Villanueva of Bulangcog, Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro for murder and homicide.
