A feeble earthquake with a 2.4 magnitude hit northern Mindoro island at 11:28 a.m. on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The quake struck 26 kilometers northeast of Calapan City at a shallow depth of 32 kilometers.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
