Mayor Villarosa denies that loans fund all San Jose projects

Mayor Jose T. Villarosa broke his silence to answer critics’ claim that all projects being undertaken in San Jose are funded by loans of the municipal government.

Villarosa clarified that San Jose’s multi-million projects are municipal-funded and are partly bankrolled by the money from the tobacco excise tax.

He said that only the heavy equipment recently acquired by the municipality were loaned.

Critics claim that all projects being undertaken in the municipality are financed through municipal loans that will eventually be shouldered by the taxpayers.
