PUERTO PRINCESA CITY—The house of a Palawan mayor was strafed by still unidentified gunmen on Monday.
Rizal Mayor Nicolas Montano’s residence at Sicud, Rizal, Palawan was peppered with bullets around 9 p.m. by the assailants who boarded a black Hilux pickup truck.
According to Tintin Montano, daughter of Montano, there were 12 people inside their house when the incident happened. The mayor was watching TV on the second floor when the shooting occurred.
According to witnesses, two unidentified men casually walked in front of Montano’s residence and started shooting.
No one was reported injured during the drive through shooting, which only damaged the walls of Montano’s house, the report said.
Witnesses reportedly saw the gunmen flee toward the town of Batalasa after the incident.
Police were conducting a thorough investigation on the matter.
