MANILA–The death toll from floods and landslides in Eastern Visayas and Mindanao regions brought by continuous rains since before the New Year continued to rise, reaching for than 40 on Wednesday, authorities said.
The latest update from the National Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council (NDRMMC) said the latest fatalities, who died from drowning, came from Eastern and Northern Samar provinces.
But reports from Negros Occidental said two persons, one of them a minor, were killed and more than 5,000 families affected by floods in northern Negros Occidental Tuesday. Read More
