A mild earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 struck off Abra de Ilog at 3:33 a.m. on Sunday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The undersea quake hit 51 kilometers northwest of Mamburao at a depth of 106 kilometers.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
