11 houses damaged by heavy rains in Palawan

Eleven houses in Palawan were totally damaged due to heavy rains brought by the northeast monsoon that prevailed over Northern and Central Luzon and the tail-end of a cold front affecting southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Based on the latest National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the damaged houses were reported in Narra, Palawan.

A total of 29 casualties had been reported nationwide while eight people were injured in Southern Leyte. Agricultural damage was estimated to reach P62.5 million while damage to infrastructure is pegged at P120 million.

Families affected by continuous rain climbed to 131,780 or 684,153 persons in 843 barangays of 103 municipalities and eight cities of 21 provinces in Regions IV-B, V, VII, X, XI, Caraga, and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
