Oriental Mindoro’s resort town of Puerto Galera was the fourth “fastest rising” travel destinations in the Philippines, says giant search engine Google.
Central Philippines’ Cebu topped the list of Google’s Fastest Rising Local Travel Destination in 2010, followed by world-renowned Boracay Island.
On the third spot was Bohol, famous for its chocolate hills, tarsiers, relatively less crowded beaches and centuries-old Catholic churches.

Fifth on the list was Camarines Sur, from the deeply religious Bicol region. The province is the Philippines’ newest and fast rising tourism star with coasts and islands that greet the traveler with gorgeous limestone formations, secluded white sand beaches as well as a throbbing adventure sports scene that makes the rest of Asia stand up and take notice.
Multicultural Davao was next and followed by Anawangin Cove, a crescent shaped cove with a pristine white sand beach in Zambales.
Puerto Princesa, a chartered city in the Mimaropa region, was eight on the list followed by Batangas. On the 10th spot was Villa Escudero, a plantation and resort, at the border of Tiaong, Quezon, and San Pablo City, Laguna.
