MANILA—Christmas is just around the corner. And one perfect gift for kids this holiday season is a Philippine-made doll.
The meticulously hand-crafted doll is one of Parañaque City’s pride. The hand-crafted dolls have been selected as one of the “Choice 100 Philippine Products” for export.
The Pinoy and Pinay customized dolls is a project of the Parañaque City Livelihood and Resource Management Office headed by Doris Marquez.
Marquez said the customized doll project aims not only to provide extra income to Parañaque residents, but to showcase the city’s well-preserved religious and cultural traditions as well.
They provide a wide-array of doll collection to choose from—from the traditional dance Sayaw sa Pagbati, to Sunduan, a fiesta tradition in honor of a patron saint.
The doll-making course is offered free to Parañaque residents. Marquez added that the Pinoy and Pinay dolls for Christmas will soon be sold on-line.
