Would TV Patrol’s Ted Failon be the next presidential brother-in-law?

Kris Aquino admitted to being Ted’s textmate and that the two would be having dinner together “in two weeks.”

During a live interview Tuesday on TV Patrol, Kris, who gave up her five-year marriage to Philippine Basketball Association superstar James Yap, said: “Ted baka mahimatay ka kapag sinagot ko na ang madalas ko lang kausap ikaw. E ‘di ba Ted textmate naman tayo talaga? At ‘di ba may dinner tayo in two weeks?”

Kris even went as far as saying Ted, a widower, might be the brother-in-law of President Benigno Aquino.

“Ano Ted payag ka? Huwag mo ako i-deny Ted ha!” Kris was quoted by Push, the entertainment news site of ABS-CBN, as saying.

Kris, who had gone through several turbulent affairs, would later clarify that Ted was not really courting her at the moment.

“No he didn’t ask me out. Hindi siya nanliligaw sa akin pero we’re really good friends,” said the TV host-actress, adding she just wanted to get back at the veteran broadcast journalist for making public some of their private conversations about President Aquino’s involvement with celebrity stylist Liz Uy and Ilongga stockbroker Len Lopez.

“Kasi ganito yun, aamin ako. Yung mga kinoment niya last Monday (TV Patrol’s December 6 episode) when they were talking about Noy’s love life, merong input si Ted dun, medyo napagkwentuhan namin yun. So I told him, ‘Maghanda ka, babawian kita.’ Sabi mo sa akin secret lang tapos tsinika mo [on air],” Kris said.

“Sabi niya, ‘Hindi naman pangit mga sinabi ko ah?’” she added.

Kris said she and Ted have established friendship because they both lost their loved ones. Failon’s wife died in an apparent suicide in April 2009.

She said they began communicating after her mother, former President Corazon Aquino, died of colon cancer in August 2009.

So does Kris like Ted Failon? “Nakakaloka talaga (laughs)! Hindi ba dapat siya muna ang tanungin ni’yo kung ‘Type mo ba si Kris?’” she said.
