The search is on for the next Mutya ng Lungsod ng Calapan.

Rona Leachon, Search for Mutya ng Lungsod ng Calapan 2010 chairperson, said the committee is now accepting application for the beauty contest, which will be held on March 20.

The pageant, now on its third year, is looking for exceptional Calapeñas who will serve as role model for the youth in the city, said the wife of Calapan City Mayor Doy Leachon.

Deadline for application is on February 25.

An aspiring Mutya ng Calapan candidate must have the following qualifications:
Born or raised in Calapan City
15-21 years old
At least 5’2 in height

Application forms are available at the City Education Department (CED), Hungry Kings, City Library and White Wall Internet Café. Filled up forms have to be submitted to the CED.

Aside from the crown, sash and special awards, the crowned Mutya ng Lungsod ng Calapan 2010 will bring home P30,000 in cash prize, P20,000 for the 1st runner up and P10,000 for the second runner up.
