CALAPAN CITY— Crissia Del Atienza of Puerto Galera was crowned Miss Oriental Mindoro 2009 in the annual Search for Miss Oriental Mindoro.
In the pageant held November 13 ahead of the 59th founding anniversary of Oriental Mindoro, Atienza also bagged minor awards in production outfit and swimsuit categories.
Krezza Gem Macalintal of Victoria got the first runner up title, followed by Michelle Kaw Acedera of Calapan.
Macalintal also won the Ms Palmolive Shine and Ms Ever Bilena awards while Acedera got the Best in Talent and Ms Colgate Smile.
Arlona Marie Enriquez of Bulalacao bagged the titles Ms Oriental Mindoro Tourism, Best in Speech Competition, Ms Photographer’s Choice, and Miss Careline.
Baco’s Vernadette Sison was chosen Ms Mahalta Beauty. She also received the Ms Congeniality award.
Other contenders who received minor awards are Airish Mejico of Pinamalayan, Best in Gown and Ms Private Joyce; and Krystal Diane Bersoto of Naujan as Ms Photogenic.
Governor Arnan Panaligan in his speech underscored the importance of the Search for Miss Oriental Mindoro not only in showcasing the beauty of the Mindoreñas but also of the province’s rich history, culture and tradition.
Other top officials who graced the event were Vice-Governor Maria Estela Felipa Aceron-Bisnar, SEC Commissioner Tady Venturanza, and several municipal mayors.
